How a psychologist supports you in perimenopause
Menopause is more than a physical transition - it can bring emotional shifts, identity changes, and new mental health challenges that are just as real and valid. A psychologist plays a vital role in helping women navigate this time with clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. From supporting mood changes, anxiety, or low motivation to helping women process the life transitions that often coincide with midlife, psychology is a powerful part of whole-person care.
At Midlife Women’s Clinic, our psychologists are essential members of the team - helping you not just cope, but truly thrive through this chapter of life
About Vanessa
Vanessa Keating is a Clinical Psychologist with over twenty years of experience working in a broad range of mental health settings, including public mental health centres, hospital research clinics, inpatient facilities and private settings.
She greatly enjoys working with midlife women, who typically enter menopause when they are already juggling too many demands in their life. Vanessa creates a safe space to explore the emotional toll that menopause can take. Allowing the time to process these changes can lead to personal growth, self discovery, and a new sense of empowerment.
Vanessa is registered with AHPRA and has an endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
