Midlife Women's Clinic Co-Founder
Dietitian | Accredited Health Coach | Menopause Coach

I have personally experienced the challenges of getting proactive help in perimenopause and I have supported many women to navigate the facts, fallacies, and options to manage this transition phase of life. So many conversations involve wading through the stream of information promoted through social media, filtering the useful and empowering from the damaging and incorrect information that prevents women from getting help.

Women in their perimenopause years can feel alone, overwhelmed, conflicted and confused about what they can do, what is safe, and what feels right. As a dietitian my focus has always been about helping women make informed and empowered choices, based on evidence based information, and my health coach training means that I respect the client as the expert in their life and their choices.

My Story

I had no idea I was in perimenopause. I didn’t have hot flushes or mood swings. I did however have painful, aching shoulders - I couldn’t lift my arms above my head for about three years - and my elbow used to throb and wake me up the night. Every morning I woke up stiff and sore and I assumed this was an inevitable part of ageing.

Despite a wrist fracture and a Dexa scan revealing I was osteopenic at age 49, menopause wasn't on my radar.  Two years later I started hormone therapy but had missed the window to proactively protect my bones and heart health during perimenopause. My bone density had dropped even further and my cholesterol had gone from 4 to 6.5. Now I'm passionate about women having the opportunity to intervene early.

I’m an optimist, an ideas generator - my brain is always set to ‘how can we do improve this?’.  I'm also a craft lover, and a cat lady.

I believe ‘better’ is always possible, and nothing makes me happier than seeing women make empowered choices that allow them to thrive.
